The Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin has announced the release of SizeUpElgin, a powerful market research and business intelligence tool specifically designed for local businesses and entrepreneurs.

Local businesses can now access industry-specific and hyperlocal information to help them grow and make smarter decisions using Big Data analysis. SizeUpElgin data can be used to rank key business performance metrics compared to industry competitors. Businesses can also discover potential customers and suppliers, better understand their competitive landscape, and optimize advertising to target ideal customer segments.

SizeUpElgin helps to level the competitive business playing field by providing small businesses with similar market research that typically only large corporations can afford to access. “In today’s information economy, if you don’t have access to information your business is at a significant disadvantage. With the launch of SizeUpElgin, we are empowering small businesses in Downtown Elgin to be able to make more data-driven decisions to better operate, succeed, and grow,” said Jennifer Fukala, Executive Director of the Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin (DNA). Across the country SizeUp clients include hundreds of private sector, government, and non-profit organizations. Fukala adds, “We are one of a few entities in the State of Illinois to offer SizeUp and we are proud to be making this investment in our local business community.”

They are the foundation of our local economy, employ our residents, create new jobs, and make our community a more prosperous place. Offering SizeUpElgin on our website is another way in which we are partnering with our local businesses for their success.” said Steve Kroiss, DNA Board President

SizeUpElgin uses big data, cloud computing, and computer algorithms to deliver custom analysis for local businesses. The data comes from hundreds of public and proprietary data sources covering firmographic, demographic, geographic, labor, wage, cost, consumer spending, transportation, and more. While the resulting data is robust the tool itself is simple to use with data generating based on industry and location. “DNA will be offering a virtual training session so small business owners and entrepreneurs can learn the tool from SizeUp experts. We want our local businesses to be able to easily access this information without any barriers.” adds Fukala.
