WELCOME TO THE DOWNTOWN NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION OF ELGIN
The DNA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization representing Downtown Elgin. Our mission is to revitalize, enhance and sustain Elgin’s historic city center. The DNA team works on behalf of every Downtown Elgin business owner, property owner, stakeholder and resident, in partnership with City leaders and community volunteers. DNA helps strengthen the economic vitality of the downtown by providing strategic business support services available to all downtown businesses and property owners, cultivating a network of entrepreneurs interested in considering a downtown location, and driving foot-traffic and visibility through positive community building events such as the Elgin Farmers Market and seasonal promotional campaigns.

The City of Elgin has a Purchase of Service Agreement with the DNA to provide economic and promotional support for the Downtown Elgin Service Area.
As a Main Street Americaâ„¢ Accredited program, Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin is a recognized leading program among the national network of more than 1,200 neighborhoods and communities who share both a commitment to creating high-quality places and to building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development. All Main Street Americaâ„¢ Accredited programs meet a set of National Accreditation Standards of Performance as outlined by the National Main Street Center.
