Honoring Our Volunteers: DNA Promotions/Special Events Committee

Volunteer_HeartIn honor of National Volunteer Week, the Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA) of Elgin would like to recognize our volunteers who have been at the very heart of DNA’s downtown revitalization efforts for more than 15 years.

Today we are recognizing the members of our DNA Promotions/Special Events Committee.

Promotions takes many forms, but the goal is to create a positive image that will rekindle community pride and improve consumer and investor confidence in our downtown. Advertising, retail promotions, special events, and marketing campaigns help sell the image and promise of downtown to the community and surrounding region. Promotions communicate our downtown’s unique characteristics, business establishments, and activities to shoppers, investors, visitors, and potential business and property owners.

Under the direction of Managing Director Jason Pawlowski, the Promotions/Special Events Committee helps not only plan all aspects of DNA’s special events, including the 4th of July Parade, Harvest Market, Pub Crawl, DNA Awards Gala, Window Wonderland, Cash Mobs, Cruise Nights, TasteNTweets and others, but also works to create partnerships to support and help other organizations promote their downtown events. The committee also works collaboratively to brainstorm new and effective ways to market and promote the positives of downtown Elgin.
