My downtown Elgin is all about great food. I love having lunch or dinner in downtown Elgin with the wide variety of choices; many of which are located in historic buildings. If I want Italian food and to hang out with friends for Thursday Karaoke Night, I go to Villa Verone, where owner and impressario Pietro Verone is quick to welcome me with a song and a joke. When Chinese food is calling my name, I order from Bangkok House, where the family is always welcoming and gracious. If I need tasty and tantalizing Thai food, there is only one place I go: Toom Toom Thai, where Chef Toom makes amazing and healthy dishes and always greets me with a huge, wonderful smile. For great pub food, there is no better place to go than Elgin Public House. Their extensive drink menu complements the great steaks and burgers (half price on Mondays!). And one can not forget Al’s Cafe with its legendary Burns’ malts. But it does not stop there, Chef Jamin’s menu of traditional American cuisine with a distinct international flair is truly a tasty treat.
Downtown Elgin has a lot to offer and its all so close and convenient. Come join me and let’s check it out together.
