Downtown Elgin is a bike-friendly community with bicycle lanes and bike racks throughout the area and even an annual public celebration of Bike-to-Work Week. The Fox River Trail, a nearly 35-mile scenic bike trail running along the east shores of the Fox River from Crystal Lake to Aurora, is accessible to bike enthusiasts, hikers and walkers alike.
