DNA Pub Crawl Spring 2018

COMING 2018!

The popular Downtown Elgin Pub Crawl is anticipated to make a return in spring 2018! For those of you who have been regulars to Pub Crawl traditionally held in the fall we say a big “Thank You” for supporting your local Downtown Elgin bars and restaurants. There is always a lot happening in fall throughout Downtown Elgin such as Fringe Festival, the Elgin Short Film Festival, Nightmare on Chicago Street, Art Harvest and more! In consideration of the busy fall schedule, the decision was made to move Pub Crawl to the spring. It will be a great to toast to some warmer weather! Please check our Facebook page or this website for updates. Thank you for your understanding. Cheers!

Busker Guidelines for Elgin, IL

buskerELGIN BUSKING GUIDELINES

Downtown Elgin welcomes buskers to perform in and about town.  We just ask that you follow some simple guidelines.

What is Busking?
A busker is considered to be an entertainer who is actively providing a public performance in the public space in exchange for a donation. Busking is defined as playing a musical instrument, singing, reciting or performing conjuring, juggling, puppetry, miming, dancing or other entertainment. Busking also includes the activity of drawing any message, picture or representation on a pavement, paper or canvas surface.

ELGIN BUSKING GUIDELINES provide a framework to assist performers, businesses and residents in understanding the rules for busking. The aim is to foster an environment that encourages and enables a range of busking performances to thrive in our city. After reading the guidelines, if you have more questions, please contact the City of Elgin’s 311 or the DNA at info@DowntownElgin.com or 847-488-1456.
