Downtown Elgin is truly a community to call home.  Downtown is the heart of a city rich with diverse neighborhoods and cultures, each with its own unique character.  From the four historic districts to new housing developments throughout the Elgin geographic area, Elgin's citizens are drawn to Downtown -- a hub of community services, restaurants, shopping and special events. 

Not only does Downtown Elgin offer a world class recreational facility, award winning library and symphony, beautiful riverfront, and recently built Festival Park, there is quick access to the immediate neighborhoods that host two outdoor water parks, two public golf courses, and the sports complex for softball.

Two hospitals, Sherman and Provena St. Joseph are just minutes away.  Elgin Community College has a downtown campus and Judson College is just minutes away.  And for traveling, greater Elgin also has three Metra stations, two of which are within Downtown.
