The Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA) of Elgin, with assistance from community partners is excited to invite the public and children groups to participate in their second year of hosting a FREE children’s program called “Rainbowland: An Adventure at the Market”, a ten week children’s program held each and every Thursday from June 12 thru August 14, noon – 2pm, at the Downtown Elgin Harvest Market, 200 N. Grove Avenue, Elgin, IL 60120. This activity is an effort to promote and educate students (K – 6) about healthy eating, being active, and related activities with additional focus on sustainability and agriculture, plus time to shop, and meet vendors through a scavenger hunt. This children’s program will feature three 20 minutes sessions from active fitness fun, to cooking demos, to an interactive activity, and fun stuff to bring home!
Open to the general public with children (adults must be present) or organized children’s groups (If a group larger than ten children contact the market in advance by calling 847.488.1456 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org). One may bring their children one week or all ten weeks and can meet at the information booth at noon to join in.
